A test video for the Flip Ultra HD Camcorder. I've only had it for two days, but here is my early review: Pros - Clear picture, vibrant colors, easy to use, records in 720p (perfect for YouTube Widescreen HD), rechargeable battery, 2-hour recording time, Flip editing software allows for trimming and combining of clips into WMV output file. Cons - Flip editing software is effective, but limited to simple titles and credits, MP3 background music, and front and back trimming of clips, no front viewer on camera. Price on Flip.com 9 Price on Walmart online 9, but with choice of two of these accessories (USB cables; HDMI; Power Adapter; tripod) included ( value if purchased from Flip).

I converted the camera to CS/C Mount. This was with Tamron 3.5-8mm F1.0. It also works with Canon eos and nikon lenses with adapter. The camcorder doesn't have as good video as other HD camcorders but is very sensitive in low light with the IR chip removed. It also works as a nightvision camcorder.

Just testing out how well the video/ audio quality comes up on YouTube from this cheap camcorder I bought. For an HD camcorder that's 0, it actually does a fairly decent job, considering professional HD camcorders can be over 0+. This camcorder does have certain problems, however. The video comes out too grainy in low-light/ dark areas and the quality suffers from it. The camcorder drops framerate significantly when moving too fast, so it's best to stay still when recording (it even comes with a mini-tripod to help with that). The audio is good quality, but you can still hear a low buzz coming from the camcorder's mechanics, especially when zooming in on something. Speaking of zoom, the digital zoom on this camcorder is terrible to the point where it's pretty useless. Other than that, it's fairly decent to use, especially when you're in well-lit areas. THAT's where the camcorder really shines. And it only uses simple SD cards, so you technically never run out of room. :3
Taking a break from the usual sillyness i'm known for to do a youtube video that compares my two camcorders, The JVC Everio GZ-HD300 and my Sony HDR-CX500v. The testing is of Low Light, which most hi-def cameras suffer from. Both cameras looked great outside, but one definitely secured sharpness from within. Pure digital specializes in easy to use, and easy to pocket, camcorders. In this case, both the Ultra and the Mino are of the HD variety and produce very similar looking video. However, the Ultra HD has the most recent flip video engine yielding slightly better video and a lower a price. It is however much more bulky than the Mino HD which retails for more.
